Wedding at Mangerton House – Vicky & Rupert

This very lovely wedding at Mangerton house witnessed Vicky and Rupert’s candlelit commitment to each other, in a touching celebration attended by twenty or so close friends and family.

Understated yet perfect; choosing this particular Dorset house afforded the couple many benefits, not least enabling their dog to share their special day with them. By dispensing with the usual wedding routines, Vicky and Rupert were able to enjoy a very relaxed atmosphere in which to make their commitment to each other, charged with an undeniably genuine air of happiness.
The venue’s refined charm was accentuated by gently elegant touches, such as vases of white freesias and the soft warm glow of candlelight.  However, the main focus of the mise en scène had to be the amazing food. The centre point around which everyone gathered, the menu was prepared onsite by the Groom’s chef (Rupert runs an events catering company); the dishes were faultless and I can only hope that my photography has done them justice. This was wonderfully accompanied by the nine layered rustic cake, made by the Bride’s sister and even featuring the couples four-legged friend.

Vows and rings were exchanged at the couple own pace after the meal amidst laughter, tears and that warm sense of fun and relaxation that is only ever found when friends and family gather round the dinner table to  celebrate.

Vicky and Rupert did away with the traditional rule book, in favour of a very honest celebration that went straight to the heart of what a wedding truly is: a sharing of love, commitment and laughter with each other and those closest to them. In doing so what they created on a autumnal October day, set in the beautiful Dorset countryside, was the perfect event; brimming with a very special intimacy which I was honoured to capture.

Thank-you Vicky and Rupert for giving me the opportunity to photograph such an honest and refreshing  celebration and I wish you every happiness in your life together.
